Around the world for $6.99

Yes it's true!

Ok, no it's not. I'm not a miracle worker, people!
But I did find some pretty fab-u map inspired accessories today at TJ Maxx here in Wichita, and they will certainly not bruise the ol' wallet.

Observe:

For my Francophile readers
I know you're out there

A box to hide the clutter.
Maybe for storing notecards!
Don't mind if I do.

And they all were between $6.99- $12.99!

Love the TJ, because as those who know me well could attest:
I love a good deal.
Which is why...it is sooo exciting to be back in the thick of garage/ estate sale season!

Last week, mi madre and I stopped by an estate sale here in the neighborhood and found a campaign chest that (sadly) had already been sold! But I was just excited to find one up close and personal.
Here's an example:

Some day I will find one for a steal!

In the meantime, I leave you with a map image:
(one that would be EASY STREET to replicate in your home)

See how it's just one big map, cut into pieces? Ah, the simplicity!

Just find a map you like...

(a congratulatory shout out to brother A. who just found out he will be studying there next semester!)
Search out your favorite thrift store for some frames
(or just hit up Hobby Lobby,)
go to town on your map with a pair of scissors,
and voila!

I have to say, I love your up-close photographs of all the map stuff! I love photography, but I'm not very good at shooting interiors.

And I love the map idea! I'll definintely keep that in mind for my boyfriend's next birthday. He studied in Venice, so that a good option too...

PS: You should visit your brother in Rome, there is SO much to see there, you'll love it!

Logging in from another country! Loving the photo of the bloggess and the post--I definitely foresee the mappage flying with both inhabitants of 234!
