Accessory Day 1: Milk Glass

So what's the easiest way to achieve a little room polish when your surroundings seem a little drab?

Yes, yes! You are a genius.
Accessorizing!

Today's accessory: Milk glass.
Not just for granny! Don't believe me? I present the following fab as evidence:

Perfect for brightening up a little corner, no?
And it's crazy easy to find---
thrift stores? check.
estate sales? double check
EVEN ETSY---->

I felt inspired to put some of our milk glass to use, along with some of our zinnias and daisies from the garden:

I tried them out a couple places. I think I like them on the blue and white tiles best!

Milk glass: A Tiny History Lesson
Milk glass is an opaque or translucent, milky white or colored glass, blown or pressed into a wide variety of shapes. First made in Venice in the 16th century, colors include blue, pink, yellow, brown, black, and white. 19th-century glass makers called milky white opaque glass "opal glass". The name milk glass is relatively recent. The white color is achieved through the addition of an opacifier, e.g. tin dioxide or bone ash.

I love milk glass, and wish I had spoken up when my grandmother died, she had some great pieces, I just thought it was old-fashioned then! XO!
