This is like a half living room/ half bathroom, no? Hardwood floors + chandelier meet tub, sink, and wall of mirrored panels. And I love the custom shower curtain. So dramatic, at that height!

Mmm...this room is so classic! Without being stodgy of course. It's the perfect guest room...and they really pull off the white walls!

Notice how there's no rug or window treatments, but the room still seems warm and inviting? I think it's the browns and crisp whites, the simplicity, and the care for details (flowers!) that make it so lovely. 
 And I really admire anyone who doesn't stuff a load of what-not underneath their beds! Are you a under-the-bed-stuffer like I am???

Frame them in a big ole frame! It seems like I never (okay, more than just seems like) I just never get around to making scrapbooks. Goodness gracious, I can hardly get around to making a Facebook album until several months later! 

But isn't this a cool idea? A bit costly...perhaps...depending on where you have the framing done. But it seems like a DIY project just waiting.

Chair styles, Pt 2: Windsor chairs

Windsor chairs have always made me think of fall, Thanksgiving, pumpkins....

I think it's because I picture pilgrims sitting in Windsor chairs. 

"Um...is that historically accurate?" you ask...

Not quite, says my good friend Wikipedia... Windsor chairs were introduced this side of the Atlantic in 1726. 

Oh hi there, Windsor chair. So you came here after the Pilgrims...

This style isn't just for Granny. I promise.

Especially if you can find the ones with thin, spindly slats, like these:

Wonder what it smells like? Here's a list of the scents: tropical fruits, sugared oranges, lemons, and limes, redolent with lightly exotic mountain greens...

Louis Chairs

Is there one piece of furniture that makes your heart flutter? You love it no matter the context? For me, that piece of furniture would be the Louis chair. I just love them! With or without the arms... I care not. Just a classic chair. I need to do a little research to pass along, but if you'd like to do some reading, I really enjoyed this tutorial from Design*Sponge. At any rate...every so often I'm going to share some of my favorite images of Louis chairs. I have a big ole file saved, where I put these images as I come across them.
