trends: natural wood

Ok so we know how a lot of times, no wooden desk or table or floor or bookcase is safe from a paintbrush and a can of white paint. Guilty! I've been guilty. You think...."this is nothing that a can of paint can't fix."
Most of the time you're right.
BUT.
Anyway. Did you know that natural wood is back in style? Here are a few examples... From walls, to floors, to ceilings...
"don't paint me!"

I'm still all for painting certain wooden pieces...although maybe now I'd look into staining them rather than painting...but the natural-wood look is definitely growing on me! What do you think?

i usually go for dark woods, but my cousin just made me the most fabulous mixed wood coffee table...it's mostly light wood, all out of bamboo.. i'll have to share a pic!!!

i agree tho, i'm putting down the can of paint for a while.

I do love this trend. It feels softer! , and much more neutral.

love natural wood! can't wait until i have money to buy some nice "virgin" (as in, unpainted) furniture.... and as far as floors go, to rid myself of this sick parquet they suffer from here, of all places! i love the look of the "scandinavian" (BS!!) style thick slabs of light-colored, (maybe slightly distressed-looking) hardwood floors... like in your second pic!
