Secretaries in le bathroom

This year's Wichita Symphony Showhouse is a must-see. Have you been yet? It runs until May 22. If you live in the area you must try to go! I had a hand in designing (and painting, good lord the painting) the library and the hallway through my old job---you know the one that was 90 miles a day to get back and forth from?

And my new and fabulous employers did the formal living room and it---
---is---
beautiful! I love it! And it features one of my well-documented favorite-things-ever---
full puddled silk curtains.

But anyway.
What I was going to do was not gush about that, and was going to ask---
have you noticed the secretary trend that is hitting bathrooms?
One of the bathrooms in the Showhouse (shown below, and done by Dwellings--they're seriously the bomb) has a free-standing secretary:

(This photo is from before the house was open to the public; there has since been a gorgeous curtain added on the rod over the window)

Isn't the secretary a nice touch?
Wait, ok those of you who are thinking um WHAT, what's a secretary? Well I'll tell ya. They come in all shapes and sizes but here's a little example of a Chippendale secretary:
HHS Furniture
Secretaries can be shorter, less formal, etc etc they don't all look like this. And when I conjure up an image of a secretary in my mind, they're usually about this formal, which is why I had never really thought of using them in a bathroom.

But it works, doesn't it?

Your site makes me want to revamp my home! It needs a breath of fresh air, but it has to survive the kids, too! Thanks for the inspiration ... and daydreaming! :)

Thanks for stopping by Snapshots :)

Love these! I really like the idea of furniture in the bathroom. Those tubs are amazing!
