and I have been cheating on interior design blogs with 

FASHION BLOGS.

And so seriously...my wellspring of (interiors) inspiration has been suffering.

This is how it happened. Back in November, I got totally hooked during the 30for30 remix. (30 pieces of clothing, mixed and matched for 30 days...I kind of want to tryyyy....Ah! No, focus. Not a fashion blogger.)

My hands-down-favey fave is Kendi Everyday, because I love her style and she's hilarious. That, and she's not always talking about how "I'm a size 0, Baby Gap is too big for me" etc etc.

But seriously you guys....reading these fashion blogs is unhealthy! For one, it makes me want to go raid erry F21, JCrew Outlet (oh yeah don't have one) and mall in sight till I find the perfect gingham check shirt / bright pink pencil skirt / brown booties w heels / trouser jeans (the list doesn't really end)

Oh hey consumerism

So I'm thinking I need to cool off on reading the fashion blogs. And just go back to my list of 254 interior/diy/crafting/mom blogs. Then I'll be back to having actual inspiration to blog about every night. Sounds like a plan, right?.....

I think my fabric love comes in close second to my pretty-papers-and-notecards love. (It's easier to fuel the paper addiction...let's be honest it's more affordable...) 
Anyway...So there's a point to all this...which is to tell you that I troll fabric.com quite frequently (rarely with an actual reason or intent to buy but that's beside the point) and recently I discovered these fun new fabrics from Ty Pennington (yes, the real scream-y guy from Extreme Home Makeover, you know the one.)

You guys! This entry way stopped me dead in my tracks

Wherever this house is, I want to live in it!

I am realizing how much I love white walls. Not to say I don't love colors too-

but white is just sometimes the perfect clean slate!

My mom always taught me to not gild the lily...fancy talk for don't overdo it... I think these spaces are perfect examples:

Love the unexpected weight of a big heavy black piece in the corner of an all white room:

Look at these hardwood floors! And a matching table and hutch--jackpot! But the rooms stays light with the white walls and ceiling...

The trick with white is to pull it off without going too sterile...and I think weighing it down with unpainted (or darkly painted) wood is one way to achieve that.

Someday I'll do it! White walls all over...

Italian Campaign Canopy Bed

So I know we've all seen this Anthro bed a million times probably... we interiors-blogs trolls... but I only just recently notice-noticed it. This bed was in the master bedroom of a feature on a GORGEOUS lodge-esque home a month or two in Elle Decor, and then yesterday I was looking through the new online-decor-mag High Gloss and I came across the bed again... 

It has substance while still having pretty lines

Do you know what I mean?

It's a statement piece without being super in-your-face

Oh goodness...Haha you can tell what time I write my posts based on the relative wordiness to picture ratio... Lightonwords/Heavyonpictures = posting right before bed. Posting with my eyes half closed right now.

I LOVE the automatic publisher though... write up a post and it publishes itself the next morning as I'm SLEEPing! 

When do you guys find time to blog? When I save blogging for late at night, that's when these inexplicable month-long blogging hiatuses happen...oops.

You guys know I love this high/low room comparisons! This latest one features a gorrrrgeous dining room.... Guess which one cost 4X as much! Can you?

The biggest price jump is in the dining tables; the one on the left is a quarter of the price of the more expensive one (and I actually like it more anyway!) Also, the less expensive rug? I like it more too. Here's something crazy...can you even tell a difference in the chandeliers? Yeah neither could I, but one is 3X more than the other.

Shop around! Because you can always get the.same.look

for way less!
