So as you know if you have spent more than 3.7 seconds on my blog, I love me a good dose of pretty. Heck, if you're on here, you probably do too. Well it's my blog and today I want to revel in pretty interiors. It's such a hard life doing this...such a hard life.

First up we have not only white on white, one of my favorites, we also have a gorgeous table, mirrored accessories, and the perfect lamp.

Vignette shots are the best kind, no? You can really focus on the details.

The mint on the dining room walls is unexpected, but isn't it gorgeous? I think besides the colors, my favorite part of this room is the delicate scale of the chairs and the chandelier.

Everybody in blogland was all about the lucite circa 2008 but that doesn't mean we can't still oo and ah. My favorite part of this though is hands.down the huge mirror...A mirror with a mirrored frame. Also, I love the print on the club chairs.

I'm assuming this is an entryway, at least based on how it's staged. I can't TELL you how much time I spend looking at entryway shots. It's kind of a shame that not many houses acutally havvve what you could even categorize as an entryway, don't you think? I love the wallpaper, and a room where you don't spend too much time is the perfect kind of room for wallpaper. Also, I love this updated black/white chest of drawers. Now I'm just rambling and need to stop.

I like the pattern on the sofa...it adds interest but is still fairly neutral.

Rugs @ Lowe's

I guess I've been living under a rock, because Guess. What.

Apparently Lowe's sells rugs.

Rugs? Lowe's sells rugs? I thought they only sold these kinds of things:

oh yes, Grasshopper, they sell more than washers/dryers, gardening tools, and bricks.

I particularly like this one:

Anthropologie, you know I love you but commmmmme onnnnnn. Seriously?

I know you have amazing stylists but this room confuses me.

Your ads are usually the kind that make bloggers say words like "swoon" and "I die" and other such hu-ha. But this ad campaign (and this picture in particular) makes me scratch my head a little.

First of all, the chair.

This chair looks like it came out on the wrong side of a fight with a cat.

Like, not even a kitty cat.

a puma.

And it's $998.

Furrowed brow.

I'm trying to pinpoint what exactly the aesthetic is that they're going for in their latest ad campaign.

I think it started out as kind of a bohemian-cabin look that went a little awry.

What do you think? Like / Love / Feel confused ?

Once in one of my shining moments of getting tooootally mixed up, I accidentally thought that my assignment in my freshman philosophy class was to read Machiavelli's THE PRINCE, when actually....the assignment was to read THE LITTLE PRINCE by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. Thatttt was a long night's worth of reading. I promise that condensing that much political brou-ha-ha into one study session is... as bad as it sounds. So when I got to class I was looking around...."Why does everyone have a picture book? Where's my syllabus..." (This was college, mind you.) Well... son of a gun. Read the wrong book. So back to the bookstore I went to fix my little mistake and lo and behold---for something that is masquerading around as a children's book, The Little Prince packs a lotttt of wisdom. I love this book. And so --- I was excited when I received my One Kings Lane email to see

I would do one of two things with these prints...

either:

a ) the obvious choice: a gallery wall in a child's room

b ) a smaller size hanging over a side table, entry table (like in a small apartment), or over a desk

The illustrations are so simple...I think that's most of the charm

Using picture books for art is awesome in two-fold:

one, it's personal because you choose books that mean something to you

and

dude....not expensive. While these are posters that you can buy individually, what's much easier is to just buy the largest size of the book you can find, and tear the pages out. (Blasphemy. Tearing books? You can also copy them onto good paper.)

Metallic Linen

One of these days I want to convince somebody to do a project with metallic linen. I mean if it doesn't happen....I'll wait until I have the budget and then I'll get long, puddly big fat curtains in metallic linen and hang them ALL OVER THE HOUSE! ON EVERY WINDOW!

This is a whole other can o' worms but the picture made me think it so: The other day we were talking at work about white rooms. A house that my boss had re-done with lots of color had been completely repainted --- all white--- and she was shocked but call me crazzzzy I kind of like the idea...

but that will be another post.

Oh hello dear reader. How kind of you to stop on back after checking and still seeing "BANANA LEAVES ...Still? oh she hasn't posted...." for the thirtieth time. If you'd given up, I wouldn't blame.

So many moons ago, ie back in June, my sweet Aunt Krista asked me to please post about my trip to Nell Hill's in Atchison which was many moons before THAT...back in March. So I'm going to post about it and my apologies to the store for posting pictures that are totally old news. Because I know they've already gussied up for fall. Ehhh...it is what it is.
